Account Executive - Education
GetThru is hiring an Account Executive to expand the reach of our best-in-class P2P texting and phone calling tools among institutions of higher education and non-profits. This position will report to the Director of Revenue and offer salary, commission, and competitive benefits.
This is a full-time, exempt position inside the collective bargaining unit; GetThru is currently negotiating its first collective bargaining agreement with our staff union.

Who you are / who will love this job
You understand the value of GetThru’s P2P texting and calling tools and can passionately represent them to various organizations, notably higher education and nonprofit organizations. You’re known for your thorough, empathetic, and consultative approach while selling philanthropy-focused and social good technologies, and you deeply understand the value they provide to organizations. You enjoy selling in any context, from Zoom calls to conference booths to happy hours. You have a deep network in higher education fundraising and/or nonprofits. You can speak from experience about how P2P texting and calling can seriously impact organizations of all sizes.
What You’ll Do
As an Account Executive, you will:
- Maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities, including net new and returning business
- Contribute heavily to pipeline generation, prospecting, and lead generation
- Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to close
- Reach and exceed quarterly quota goals
- Develop and execute strategic plans in consultation with the Director of Revenue to expand our higher education and nonprofit client base
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic clients and partners
- Draft proposals and lead presentations communicating the value of our tools
- Lead product demos with strategic clients
- Manage and conduct research/outreach via email, phone, and text to prospective clients
- Attend conferences for networking, presenting with client partners, and staff exhibition booths approximately 4-6 times per year
You should have / What we’re looking for
- Experience with software sales or equivalent sales experience
- A demonstrated passion for and involvement in higher education, philanthropy, and nonprofit organizations
- A comprehensive understanding of the landscape of prospective clients
- A strong work ethic and goal-oriented attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort with phone, screen-share, and in-person presentations
- Experience or openness to working remotely
- Ability to create effective sales strategies to meet and exceed sales quotas
- Excellent time-management skills with the discipline to handle multiple tasks and adapt quickly to change in a fast-paced, structured selling environment
- Ability to travel frequently

Location
This is a fully remote position, hiring in the U.S. You may work from anywhere if you have good internet and the work gets done! Please note that you will be expected to work in U.S. time zones, wherever you are.
Compensation
- Base salary will be $77,000 - $94,000, depending on experience. $115K-$140K on target earnings made up of base salary and sales commissions. Commissions are uncapped.
